To register your child for Infant Baptism (up to age 7), you must complete a Baptism Registration form which can be found below or obtained from the Parish Office.
Parents must be practicing Catholics in good standing with the Church. Guidelines and requirements for godparents are included on the registration form. A copy of the child’s state issued Birth Certificate must be included with the registration form.
Parents and Godparents must complete classes if they have not done so within the last three (3) years. If you are in need of classes, you will be contacted to schedule them once the Registration Form and Birth Certificate are received. Please see the schedule for Baptism classes and dates below. You will not be able to schedule the date of Baptism until mandatory classes have been completed.
Since we have only one priest and only one Spanish-speaking Deacon at St. Anne, registered parishioners are given first consideration; and then, as space allows, we gladly welcome parents who are from a neighboring parish.
For more information about Baptisms, please contact Rosemary aka Rosamaria Perry at rperry@stanne-tomball.org.
Thank you for considering The Community of St. Anne —Tomball, Catholic Church and School, for this special occasion in yours and your child’s lives.
What is the purpose of Baptism:
The first of the seven sacraments, and the "door" which gives access to the other sacraments. Baptism is the first and chief sacrament of forgiveness of sins because it unites us with Christ, who died for our sins and rose for our justification. Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist constitute the "sacraments of initiation" by which a believer receives the remission of original and personal sin, begins a new life in Christ and the Holy Spirit, and is incorporated into the Church, the Body of Christ. The rite of Baptism consists in immersing the candidate in water, or pouring water on the head, while pronouncing the invocation of the Most Holy Trinity: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit (977, 1213 ff.; 1275, 1278).
